Rinjani Trekking 4 Days 3 Nights Classic Trails
This is a classic trek which starts from Senaru and ends in Sembalun Lawang.
The highlights are: Mt. Rinjani’s summit (3,726 m), Segara Anak Lake (crater), Hot Springs and Caves.
Type of tour: Fully organized (adventure, leisure, eco tourism, safety).
Individual or group departures are available upon request.
Rinjani Trek requires you to have a good level of fitness and ability to walk long distance.
People with mountain sickness or height phobia are not suggested to join this tour.
We can customize any date based on request with minimum 2 persons in each group.
Trek itinerary:
Day 01 Hotel – Senaru – Crater Rim
Pick up early at your hotel/guest house, and then register yourselves at the Rinjani Information Centre (RIC) in Senaru Village.
Your guide will book you the National Park entry ticket. The guide also gives you short briefing describing the route details, the local cultural traditions and what you might see, and explains the disposal materials management and safety procedures.
The first hours of the trek climb steeply through thick tropical forest rich in flora, bird life and variety of butterflies. Rest stops can be taken along the way up to Post 2 Montong Satas (1,500m).
The night’s camp is made either in the forest at Post 3 Mondokan Lolak (2,000m) after about five hours climb from Senaru, or continue the ascent for another couple of hours through grassy meadows Plawangan 1 Senaru crater rim at 2,641m.
The view there is spectacular, you can see across the lake Segara Anak (2,00m) to the summit of Mt. Rinjani. Within the crater, Mt. Baru (2,351m) is an active, last erupting dramatically in April 2009.
If you are lucky, on the clear night you can see Mount Agung and Gili Islands from the place you stand.
Day 02 Crater Rim – Lake
After breakfast, everyone climbs down to Lake Segara Anak.
You can see the small volcano called Mt. Baru (2,351m). Its last erupting was in April 2009.
Going down the ridge you will pass numerous Edelweiss plants. Lunch will be served on the Lake Segara Anak.
You will spend the rest of the day relaxing, swimming in the lake and exploring the caves and pilgrimage hot springs, which we believe having the power of healings.
Day 03 Lake – Plawangan Sembalun
Leave the lake and climb for three hours up to Plawangan Sembalun. Lunch is served on the way.
When you arrived at Plawangan Sembalun, you will have the time to rest.
You have to prepare yourself for an early morning climb to the summit (3,726 m).
Day 04 Plawangan Sembalun – Summit – Sembalun
At 03:00 AM you begin a challenging three-hour climb to the summit (3,726 m) up to volcanic scene. Once there, watch the amazing sunrise views across the Wallace Line to Bali, Mt. Agung and Sumbawa, going down to the campsite crater rim Sembalun.
After sunrise, climb down to the post to get your breakfast. Climb down to Post 3 Pada Balong (1,800 m), where you can enjoy a lunch break.
You will reach back the Post 2 Tengengean (1,500 m) to enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Rinjani summit (3,726m) and to Pos 1 Pemantauan (1,300).
The trek ends at Rinjani Information Center at the road head in Sembalun Lawang, where the car is waiting to transfer you to the airport or Senggigi.
