Rinjani Trekking 5 Days 4 Nights Classic Trails For Beginners
This is a classic trek for beginners. You will have 1 night accommodation in Post 1 before taking the trek to Rinjani Summit and back.
This route start from East Entrance (SEMBALUN), finish at North (SENARU), includes Mt. Rinjani’s summit (3,726 m), Segara Anak Lake (crater), Hot Springs, and Crater Rim Base camp.

Individual or group departures are available upon request. Rinjani Trek requires you to have a good level of fitness and ability to walk long distance. People with mountain sickness or height phobia are not suggested to join this tour. We can customize any date based on request with minimum 2 persons in each group. There are two types of service to choose: Deluxe or Budget service.
Day 01 Airport – Hotel at Senggigi
Our guide will meet and greet you at the airport then transfer you to the hotel, assist the check in and give you a short briefing about the trek and answer any questions you may have regarding the trek. Free program prior to the trek to give you enough time to rest and fresh up.
Day 02 Hotel – Sembalun – Crater Rim
Pick up early at your hotel/guest house, and then register yourselves at the Rinjani Information Centre (RIC) in Sembalun Lawang.
Your guide will book you the National Park entry ticket. The guide also gives you short briefing describing the route details, the local cultural traditions and what you might see, and explains the disposal materials management and safety procedures.
The trek starts with gentle ascent walking through open grassland. At the daily basic, this open grassland is used as cattle grazing by local people.Your first resting area is at Post 1 Pemantauan (1,300m above sea level).
After about three hours from Sembalun you will reach Post 2 Tengengean (1,500 m) where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Rinjani summit (3,726 m).From Post 2 to Post 3 Pada Balong (1,800 m) it takes 1 more hours of climbing, and then climb between the pine-like Casuarinas species locally known as Cemara.
Sometimes, you will witness wild pigs and the long-tailed grey macaque monkeys along the way to the camp site at Plawangan II Sembalun crater rim (2,639 m).

Day 03 Crater Rim – Summit – Lake Segara Anak
At dawn, you will climb up to the summit of Rinjani, to witness the first ray of sunrise. Don’t forget to bring your camera and handycam with you.
After sunrise, everyone climbs down to the post and have some breakfast before continuing the track to Lake Segara Anak.
The rest of the day will be spent near the lake. Dinner and overnight at the Lake.
Day 04 Lake – Plawangan Senaru
After breakfast, leave the lake and climb for two and half hours up to Plawangan 1 Senaru Crater Rim (2,461 m).
You will be stationed at Plawangan 1 Senaru to overnight. Enjoy the views of the lake from the other side, relax, explore and await the sunset.
If the wind is cold, you may prefer to descend one hour to Cemara Lima and camp in the more sheltered forest. Your guide will prepare all things necessary.
Day 05 Plawangan 1 Senaru – Senaru – Hotel
After breakfast, descend down the long trail to Senaru village (601 m), through thick tropical forests rich in flora, bird life and a variety of butterflies.
You might see orchid and, if lucky, the rare black ebony leaf monkey, known locally as lutung.
Rest stop are taken along the way, usually blended with village stories and local legends told by your guide.
The trek ends at Rinjani Trek Center at the road head in Senaru, where the car is waiting to transfer you to the airport or hotel in Senggigi.
Note: There is an option to start the classic trek from Senaru and finish at Sembalun. The first day you will be transfered from Airport directly to Senaru Cottages. Please contact us for more details.
